No New Nuclear Fuel Factory—Tell NRC by Feb14th
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is seeking public comment on a proposed nuclear fuel factory in Tennessee. This factory would produce a new type of nuclear fuel never used in the US before. The so-called TRISO fuel balls would contain more dangerous, higher-enriched uranium encased in flammable graphite, for use in very high-temperature reactors.
Take action and tell NRC to study and disclose ALL environmental impacts of this proposed factory which would fabricate dirty, dangerous, and wasteful uranium fuel for new nuclear reactors.
We need 100% renewable, nuclear-free, carbon-free energy to fight climate change, not new nuclear fuel that is even more dangerous than our current standard. For climate, environmental health, and global security, we must phase out nuclear power, solve the radioactive waste crisis, and protect the environment from new dirty, radioactive wastes.
ACT NOW! Tell NRC: Disclose ALL Environmental Impacts of TRISO Fuel Factory in Tennessee
DEADLINE TO COMMENT: February 14, 2023
