Tell your Idaho State Senator to reject HB 96, a bill that strikes the word “renewable” and adds nuclear power to the list of “clean” energy sources considered by the Idaho Energy Resources Authority.
The notion that nuclear power is “clean” could not be further from the truth. Idahoans know firsthand: nuclear waste contaminates precious air, land, and water forever.
For decades, Idaho has been burdened by the dirty realities of the nuclear industry. This attempt to define nuclear power as "clean" is greenwashing and opens the door for state funding to dirty energy projects, rather than investments in the real solutions to affordable, clean power: renewable energy and efficiency.
